About

Personal

I was born in Syracuse, NY in 1984. In 1990 my parents moved back to their hometown of Buffalo, NY 3 hours west of Syracuse. At the age of 6 I was reluctant to go but it proved to be a great move and shaped me going forward. As a child I grew up on our first personal computer, a Mac Plus and continued this trend through high school. After high school I attended Canisius College in Buffalo, NY where I studied Digital Media Arts. It was here in my freshmen English class that I met my wife, Nina.

Career

I started working while in college, first at the Buffalo News then later taking a job at Paragon Advertising in downtown Buffalo. During my last year of school I worked at Schneider Digital as a web designer.

After graduation I joined a startup company called Hyperlocal Media, acting as the Art Director. It was this stage in my career that I began to get a keen interest in business and the act of starting a company. Hyperlocal Media created locally focused news sites in the USA and Canada. My responsibilities lied in managing the design of our monthly magazine for the Buffalo market as well as creating all ads and user interface designs for the online publications. Hyperlocal Media collapsed into just Buffalorising.com in 2007.

During this period I immediately was offered a job as Design Director at Blowtorch Entertainment. Blowtorch was a startup movie studio located in Sausalito, California. My responsibilities were in designing web and marketing interfaces to promote our films either through facebook, myspace, or traditional webpages. Despite raising a great deal of capital Blowtorch folded in 2009.

In addition to working at Blowtorch I had an opportunity to start my first company, Buffalo Sports Tees. Buffalo Sports Tees formed in late 2007 with my brother-in-law and his good friend as partners. Our original goal was to have some fun selling Buffalo themed t-shirts, however in doing the preliminary marketing for the young company I began to see the a need for sports themed apparel that does not contain the traditional logos and emblems of American sports teams. To date Buffalo Sports Tees apparel can be found for sale on three websites as well as in 2 storefronts and 2 malls in the Western New York area.

Currently I am a freelance designer working out Buffalo, NY with local and national clients. If you are looking to get in touch please send me an email via the contact page.
